FAQs

  • Watercolor
I use Winsor & Newton Professional Watercolor. I only use the paints classified as lightfast and 'permanent for artists' use', meaning the colors won’t fade away and will appear the same for generations to come.

    Graphite
I use a mix of Castell 9000 and Pitt Graphite Matt graphite pencils of supreme artists' quality from Faber-Castell. I also use Winsor & Newton Professional Fixative Spray: this colorless spray protects pencil drawings from smudging.

    Paper
I work on Arches hot-pressed 300gsm/140lb watercolor paper, which is professional grade watercolor paper of the highest quality. I do occasionally use heavier weight 640gsm/300lb paper for some of my botanical paintings as well. 100% cotton composition gives the paper its natural whiteness, and its hot-pressed surface is perfectly smooth for capturing fine details. Arches watercolor paper is acid-free* and designed to last.

*Acid-free means that paper won’t become yellow and fragile over time.

  • Losing a beloved bet is a painful and heartbreaking experience. If you’d like to commission a portrait of a pet that has passed away, I understand that you may not have high-quality photographs so don’t hesitate to contact me: I will do my best to create a lovely tribute of your pet.

  • This varies a lot from portrait to portrait, its size and materials used but it can take anywhere from 3 days to 4 weeks to complete one.

In addition to this, I also have a waitlist for commissioned pieces which is managed on a first-come/first-served basis so it may take anywhere from a week to 6 months before I start working on your commissioned portrait.

At the time of booking, I will provide an estimated completion date; however, while every effort will be made to meet that time frame, please note it is rather a rough estimation.

For specific dates (e.g. birthday, Christmas), I will try my best to accommodate any special requests.

  • My original botanical artwork, as well as original wildlife artwork, are available to purchase on my website shop or my Etsy shop.

  • Once you’ve decided on the type of portrait you would like (medium: watercolor or graphite, size), please get in touch with me via my contact form or email.

To secure a spot on my waiting list, I will have to approve your photographs first, and receive a non-refundable €30 deposit (the €30 deposit will go towards your portrait). The remaining balance, as well as shipping charges, are due before the painting ships out.

To ensure your full satisfaction, I will email you a photo of the finished portrait for your final approval. If you do not approve the finished portrait, please rest assured that you will not be charged, and the portrait remains the property of LS Fine Art.

Payments can be made via my website shop, PayPal or bank transfer.

  • All original pieces and portraits come with their signed Certificate of Authenticity. The artwork is placed in a polypropylene bag or carefully wrapped in acid-free glassine paper (subject to availability), and shipped flat with a layer of bubble wrap for extra protection.

  • When commissioning a bespoke pet portrait, shipping will be invoiced after the portrait is finished and approved by the client.

Commissioned portraits are non-returnable. If there are any issues with your order, please get in touch with me via the contact form on my website or via my email.

    Returning an original painting:

I hope you will love everything that you order from LS Fine Art but if you aren’t fully satisfied with your purchase, returns are done on a case-by-case basis, within 14 days of the original delivery date. In order to start a return process, please request a return via the contact form or via my email.

Once you’ve submitted your return request, keep an eye on your email for next steps. If your return is accepted, you will be sent a return shipping label and further instructions.

To qualify for a return, artwork must be in its original condition without any signs of damage, in its original undamaged packaging (polypropylene bag or glassine paper, certificate of authenticity, mailing tube).

LS Fine Art will give you a full refund by the same method you used to pay, within 14 days of your return. A charge for return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Once your return is received, processing can take up to 7 business days before your refund is issued.

LS Fine Art reserves the right to deny your refund if the artwork returned does not meet the policy requirements stated above. LS Fine Art is not able to cover lost, stolen or missing packages.

  • The artwork is packaged with care so it is highly unlikely that your order arrives damaged. However, if your artwork does arrive in an unsatisfactory condition, it should be reported to LS Fine Art via my contact form or email within 48 hours of the original delivery date.

Please make sure to attach digital images of the damage. LS Fine Art will arrange a refund upon receiving the returned damaged artwork, or create a new identical portrait at no extra charge.

The return fees are at the client's cost.

  • At the moment, LS Fine Art does not offer framing or mounting services.
