Frequently Asked Questions
1. An important update about EU shipping
My paintings are held in private collections in France, Greece, Canada, and Poland. I love knowing that my paintings have found homes in different countries, and I hate that the administrative and financial burden of these new rules is making this so difficult for a tiny independent artist…
I have made the difficult decision to pause shipping to EU countries outside France until further notice. You can still commission a painting or buy my original work and meet me personally in Paris, France, where you can pick it up in person.
I want to explain why, because I know this may be confusing - especially if you've bought my work from another EU country before.
2. New packaging regulationsNew EU packaging rules are being introduced in 2026.
As a small independent artist selling directly to customers, I may have to comply with packaging producer-responsibility requirements in the countries where I sell my work.
Depending on the country, this can mean registration, reporting, recycling contributions and appointing a local legal representative.
3. The representative requirement is the difficult partIn some EU countries, a business based in another EU country may need to appoint a representative in the destination country in order to sell directly to consumers there, and these representatives are not free.
I've found services ranging from around €200 to €1,000+, depending on the country and service.
Some charge annual fees even if you only make one or two sales.
